Also thought these descriptions of the new F1 cars were interesting: • George Russell said you can feel the cars being smaller & the weight reduction • Isack Hadjar called the cars a bit more predictable & easier to play around with compared to previous gen All sounds great.
Liam Lawson says 2026 F1 cars are “very different” to drive. “Feels like there’s a lot more we can do as drivers potentially to make a difference, which is good.”

George Russell is pleased with his first day in the Mercedes W17 but says Red Bull has “clearly done a good job” with its power unit considering the number of laps they put in. Also mentions Ferrari’s mileage. “It's not quite how it was in 2014.”

Gabriel Bortoleto on Audi’s short day: “We found a couple problems that unfortunately put us out of the day already. It was expected, these type of things.” “It was a precaution thing as well. We decided to not run until we fully understand then to put the car back on track…”

Kimi Antonelli: “The car is nice. It’s very nice to drive” “I have to say the team did, on the PU side, a really good job. Drivability which was a big question mark seems to be good so far. Obviously it’s early days, that’s why with the running we will discover a lot more about

Kimi Antonelli on the @MercedesAMGF1 W17: "It still will take a bit of time to try all the modes, overtake, override, all that kind of stuff. It's different. But the car is nice. It's very nice to drive, and obviously on the PU side it's a bit different compared to what we had

Isack Hadjar on his first day in the RB22: “It was pretty productive. Surprisingly, we managed to do a lot more laps than we expected. Everything went pretty smooth. We had like only minor issues so it’s quite impressive considering it’s our first day with our own engine.”

'@FranColapinto on the @AlpineF1Team A526: "At the end of the day, it's still a race car, and you need to drive it quickly within the grip that it's available, and that's very similar. But the technique is changing a little bit. The energy management, the tyres are much, much

Liam Lawson on Red Bull-Ford PU: “It feels good honestly so far today but it’s very hard to tell. The main thing is reliability & we’ve done a good amount of laps. … The only issues we really had today were safety precautions, not really any actual issues.” “So far on the
