It's great to see Congress recognize the #housingcrisis this way, with targeted, coordinated leadership. I recently had a call with a single dad who is paying $2,300/mo for the least expensive apt he could find. He's worried that he can't sustain it. https://t.co/FN1qaS0TS9

Thank you to @KGWNews for bringing light to the invisibility of #family #homelessness. As a local, all of our focus seems to be on what we can see. By not acknowledging/responding to the reality for families and children, we are creating harm. https://t.co/FnhxTZU3AC

Homeless families aren't often seen, and for good reason. They try to keep moving and find secluded sites to make camp for fear that they'll be harmed or separated.

From a @fpnational Affiliate: "Mom keeps a smile on her face, but you can tell she is tired. Working two jobs and around 65 hours a week, plus raising three young boys... When asked how long they have been homeless, mom responds with 'one year.'" #familyhomelessness #MothersDay

This is what it is all about- ending #familyhomelessness one family at a time. This family of 6 is moving into permanent #housing! Congratulations to this extraordinary family, and to @FPRiverside! #endhomelessness @fpnational

Zoning meeting for approval on building to serve #children & families experiencing #homelessness. Neighbor protests. Council: "we are not going to entertain complaints of not in my back yard", every community needs these services. Wish more leaders agreed. #NIMBY @fpnational

Too many communities lack resources for families with #children experiencing #homelessness. The expansion of services here is wonderful- "we have families in crisis, families that are on the edge all the time..... But you don't ever see them." @fpnational

Family Promise of Greater Helena is expanding its services to Townsend, and Broadwater County, to address challenges faced by families and children at-risk of homelessness.

Love and care in action. So many of us want to help others and don't know how. So making the ask is important. I prefer to believe that most of us will share love when given the opportunity. @fpnational

Family Promise has seen this too. “Our goal is getting people housed.... But the people we’re working with are usually in crisis and that means our staff has to absorb a lot of vicarious trauma.” #youcantpourfromanemptycup #endhomelessness @fpnational

The move by the D.C. nonprofit is the latest sign of what nonprofit leaders say is a "national crisis" for the social safety net.

The weight of housing, food, and financial insecurity is not just too heavy for parents. The children carry it right along with them.

I loved this whole article. I love the idea of people becoming "poverty abolitionists" and the goal that "The ideal poverty rate in America is zero. Why settle for anything less?" #PREACH #Endpoverty #endchildhoodpoverty

I was disappointed by how little family/youth #homelessness was discussed during yesterday's Senate hearing w/ @USICHgov. USICH represents 19 fed depts, and yet referred almost exclusively to HUD data, which is not an accurate representation of kids and families. #kidsdeservemore

What would the world look like if we all gave what we could? During college I worked as a receptionist for a spa. I spent the morning volunteering at #ProjectHomelessConnect, and spent the afternoon selling $1,200 worth of skincare product to one person. I'll never forget that.

It would be great to see system-wide #rentrelief. The #affordablehousing crisis is driving increases in #homelessness, and #families with #children are losing. 2.5 million children experience homelessness each year in the US. https://t.co/GjToRlGNrM via @businessinsider

Desperate for new tenants, landlords aren't just lowering rents — they're handing out perks like gift cards and free parking.

I'll never forget a dear family of 5 I worked w/@ my fmr @fpnational Affil. Dad had 3 jobs. Mom had a miscarriage➡️lost her job ➡️lost rental➡️tried hotels➡️ran out of $➡️landed in tent➡️endured a summer, but MI temps⬇️fast. They endured so much b/c they were not #homelessenough.

This is a fantastic accounting of how #families/#children/#youth are not adequately included or recognized in the #homeless response system. #endhomelessness @SchoolHouseConn @fpnational https://t.co/dhYmoLZjDo

While my kids are celebrating a #snowday in Oregon, I am thinking of those that are living outside in all of this. Tents and tarps are not #housing, and certainly not insulated. #Homelessness should not exist.
