The FDNY Foundation joins the FDNY in remembering Supervising Fire Marshal Snyder. We remember and honor him for his 22 years of service, commitment, sacrifice, and dedication to the FDNY and the City of New York. SFM Snyder will never be forgotten.
On Friday, the FDNY held a plaque dedication ceremony for Supervising Fire Marshal George E. Snyder Jr. who died in the line of duty after suffering a cardiac episode on August 9, 2024. He died the following day. He joined the Department in 2002 and became a Fire Marshal in 2009.
