In 2015, it was estimated that less than 1% of the global output of scholarly articles came from Africa. Here's what we've learned over the past decade while working with African orgs and universities to develop the next generation of African academics.

We join the rest of the world to wish every woman a Happy International Women’s Day. We are hopeful that the #SDG5 and #SDG10 will be achieved. However, more needs to be done to empower women globally.

This great photo essay from @UNICEFGhana shows the incredible lengths health workers go to to reach every child despite the challenges posed by #COVID19. Proud of @Gavi's work to support those efforts, which includes providing 2,343 vaccine fridges!

These are extremely useful findings and certainly researchers from both the Global South & North will benefit from these. There is a dire need for cost-reductions for OA otherwise many researchers in the Global South will continue to be disenfranchised.

We are really pleased to share that this new report into #OpenAccess in #LMICs is published today. It was a fascinating project to work on. Many thanks to all who were interviewed, completed the survey, participated in focus groups and fed back at various stages of the research.
