On #WorldMetDay, we announce our new project with African weather services. A team led by @AtmosScience @UniversityLeeds have been awarded £2m to transform access to early weather warning systems for communities in South Africa, Zambia, and Mozambique.

For instance, being aware of an impending storm could give you enough time to: .- cover crop harvests .- delay spraying crops with pricey pesticides that might wash away .- inform a revised transport schedule to avoid delays .- avoid fishing in potentially fatal conditions.
