Painting the very real antisemitic indoctrination of children as a sort of Borat "where are their horns?" joke really profoundly bothers me. Vile film. Fails at being subversive and fails at being funny
What are some examples of truly evil movies? Not necessarily in terms of depicting it, or thematizing it (or ideology/politics) but that truly feel like theyโre channeling something awful into the world?(This was prompted by preparing a lecture on SPOORLOS).

i donโt like using this argument but youโre seriously just being oversensitive, the kid learns that racism is bad despite his upbringing, how is that evil?

My man...
This movie was written by a Jewish guy (tiaka) whose family ran away from Nazis.
Plus it shows how propaganda is bad.
Such a fucking smart and enjoyably sad movie

You literally have the Hamas sign in your screen name and youโre worried about trivializing fictional depictions of antisemitism? Classic.

You openly support a group that wants to exterminate Jews. So yeah, I believe that you'd definitely be the one to know subversive when it's in sight.

this is kinda unrelated to your post (which I agree with) but I really wish I could strap everyone replying to a chain and make them watch Come and See

This movie is about breaking away from indoctrination. FFS, the main character tells Hitler to fuck off right before kicking him out the window! Does that not tell you everything you need to know?
