The Commission’s proposed #UWWTD reinforces control at source as the most effective way to tackle pollution and #micro-pollutants. We fully support the introduction of #EPR, which will enable investments while maintaining #affordability More https://t.co/4YUGOO810S

The @EU_Commission and the @EUEnvironment report on the river Oder confirms the need for better regulation of industrial emissions to water. We support the application of the #IED to more farms and to make permits adhere to the strictest end of BAT ranges. https://t.co/Pwn9R4odSU

We welcome the Commission’s Proposal for a revised #UWWTD. The original directive has reduced environmental pollution from waste water and enhanced the ecological and chemical status of the European water bodies. You can read our full position here: https://t.co/GfQgKqEbwm

#IED: Industrial emissions can affect drinking water resources - water suppliers need to be involved in the permit and BAT processes to anticipate potential threats so that authorities and industries can eliminate these before they materialise. https://t.co/2MGriVSAN2

The EP Rapporteur for the Sustainable Use of Pesticides (#SUR) published their report this week, highlighting that polluters should be financially responsible for any environmental damage they incur. #WaterMatters @europeangreens #EPR

#SUR: water suppliers need resources that are protected from pollution so that tap water remains safe and affordable. We urge the EP and the Council to protect these. Only substances that have no detrimental effects should be allowed. https://t.co/X8ZOWTsBaI

The insertion of new hazard classes and their criteria into the CLP Regulation is one of the primary commitments of the chemicals strategy for sustainability and for the target of zero chemical pollution in the environment.

The Council does not intend to raise objections to the Delegated Act amending the CLP of substances as regards new hazard classes and criteria, including PMT and vPvM. Persistent and mobile substances, like PFAS, pose a serious threat to water services.

The European Chemicals Agency (#ECHA) has published the details of the proposed PFAS group restriction comprising more than 10 000 per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (#PFAS). Why is this a positive move? #WaterMatters

#IED Industrial discharges into sewers can affect WWTPs and the en'ment. WW operators should know what substances industry plans to discharge and be involved in the permitting & BAT processes. The emitter should bear any costs for additional treatments. https://t.co/in9S9ZC1yC
