If you make a graph of the percentage of 30yos named Elmer who own homes, you will see an even more precipitous drop. Our political leaders should take the decline in Elmer homeownership much more seriously!.

This graph is annoying because it combined two variables with very different trajectories. Marriage rates among 30-34 year-olds have fallen significantly, but homeownership is more or less even. You don't have to be married to own a home!
