Well, I did it. I am officially back in retail pharmacy! I know, what’s wrong with me?! Why would I c h o o s e to go back? I have a mini existential crisis when I walk through the doors, but at the end of it I know retail is where I thrive despite all the frustrations. 🤞🏻

After nearly a year in an infusion pharmacy; a time spent full of anxiety and feeling disconnected from everything.. retail sounds good. But in reality, it isn’t. I know what it does to someone’s mental health, and their overall well-being.

I knew what to expect: churning out nearly 1k scripts a day, endless queues, problem patients, grateful patients, stock issues and so on. Retail is familiar to me. It’s where I found my confidence, somehow.

It’s the middle of severance week 2 out of 15 and I’m sitting here contemplating what life would become for me if I return to retail pharmacy. Retail felt “safe” for me. I was comfortable with my position, my knowledge and skills.
