After a nice break from the heat to start August, the middle of the month brings an extended period of hot conditions. Plenty of 90 degree days as fall sports practice is in full swing.

If it feels like this summer is more humid than normal, that's because it is. Our stormy pattern is providing plenty of surface moisture, along with the Bermuda High pumping more heat and humidity northward. It doesn't get much worse than this for our region.

We have a ton of humidity to help produce downpours this evening. Storms will be hit-or-miss. Those who get hit with storms could end up with a half inch or more of rain very quickly. Isolated areas could see 1" to 2" of rain.
