It's misinformation when media speculates that we chose Malta because perhaps it's a fast lane to licensing or perhaps that it comes with any concessions. Both these assumptions are far from on the ground reality. It's time to learn the truth and not build a POV on misinformation.

- We were requested almost immediately to shut down our DEX router, a material impact on our DEX terminal marketshare. Despite our presence in Malta, we again received no concession, and we adhered and complied fully.

Since being granted a license, we have:.- Paid a hefty fine as part of a previous investigation into our compliance controls. Our license or relationship led to no concessions on the outcome of the investigation or our accountability. We paid a fine.

Ultimately, despite our early observations of Malta's MFSA being a tough regulator, we choose Malta because they had made more advances in their licensed product offering as a whole. Did OKX receive any favorable terms from MFSA? The answer is no, and in fact, again the opposite.

Malta's crypto licensing framework has existed since 2018.They are among the 3 markets that have the simplified procedure (Article 143(6) of MiCA). Did OKX explore other jurisdictions? Yes, we evaluated France and Netherlands.
