@BorisBaldassari Maybe the way we assess #OSS projects relevance to #SDGs does not currently reflect the technical reality of software? Maybe we are asking software engineers to do a communication exercise? Maybe they should rather focus on making the software work instead?

With @BorisBaldassari and others in our Foundation, we are working on demonstrating the amazing work that is done with #OpenSource to achieve SDGs. But we also have challenges. One of them being: how do we prove it when the software is freely available online?

A mental model I have of AI is it was roughly ~linear progress from 1960s-2010, then exponential 2010-2020s, then has started to display 'compounding exponential' properties in 2021/22 onwards. In other words, next few years will yield progress that intuitively feels nuts.
