Sri Nikunja Dhal joined as Principal Secretary of Energy Department today. He reviewed the progress of post Amphan restoration work. He appreciated the good progress made so far and asked all concerned to take good care of the workmen and ensure their safety.
With the sudden outage of one 800 MW capacity unit ( Odisha share 400 MW) of NTPC’s Darlipali power station and non availability of adequate power in the exchange, limited load regulation has become unavoidable. Efforts are being made to minimise inconvenience to the consumers.
Climate change is real. Our dependence of fossil fuels must come down. Let’s install solar plants to save money and make our planet greener. The Regulation of OERC enables every consumer to be a producer of solar energy.

Government of Odisha has exercised it’s right of first refusal to purchase 49 percent equity of AES in OPGC. AES had acquired that equity in 1999. OPGC’s 1740 MW installed capacity including 1320 MW new super critical capacity is the mainstay of the thermal power for the state.
