@ElvyCurious @JennyAThatcher My dad was born in the east-end of London in the 1920s and got taken into the country by some sort of ‘ragged schoolchild’ charity. Those charities have gone but so has the welfare state and full employment - going into the country is impossible for those in poverty.

I’m not trying to be a wimp, but what is going to take a long time to heal in my heart personally is the videos of parents with their kids screaming “Pakis out!” In the streets of England and Ireland. 2024…what a disgrace man.

Disappointing to see racism and xenophobia in prominent birders' tweets, so let's clap back and highlight the brilliant work of Flock Together, who are doing such a great job of challenging the underrepresentation of the black community in ornithology! https://t.co/vfCzkovomp

There are lots of layers to the work we do, most of it is never seen. I am so grateful that Ali has found a way to describe her relationship to the world & hopefully now feels she belongs outdoors, on adventures & in nature. https://t.co/5zrgsTt8Z5

Unconscious bias (which is rubbish anyway) isn't unconscious if you know about it. So here goes... yet again. I've only watched about half an hour of gymnastics so far, but I've clocked "elegant, graceful, elegant and smooth, full of grace, etc." for white gymnasts and...

Here is my new short film about the heritage of Romany Gypsies! It’s about what you can see and what you can’t: the landscape that exists only in the eyes of those with the stories passed down to them. Written, filmed, and composed by me. ✌🏼❤️ https://t.co/kDl3X4itE5

My Mistle Thrush in #Greenwich. Painted as part of a local campaign to overturn the Council’s reckless decision to sell off a wildlife refuge and valued community space to developers. Sadly, the Mistle Thrushes that lived here lost their home ➡️ https://t.co/bGqT5l1xK0

This is what our teenage girls want. Hanging in hammocks in the wilder area of Rowntree Park - chat, relax and take in nature. As well as our ‘Make Space for Girls’ Festival of events, we have been running weekly woodland hangouts for over two years and they are well loved!
