User vs protocol centric security is a really important distinction. Want to step up your security as a user right now?. Give Kleidi a spin today:

1/ Security in crypto is split into two camps: protocol-centric and user-centric. Most people conflate the two. We don't because this distinction is very important and can help users stay safe.

when you tell a company their product doesn't get the job done anymore, and then they successfully sell you on a higher price tier of that same product, you'll know you have a real 100xer on your hands.

needing to adjust your offering because unit economics don't work is fine. doing it in such an opaque way without any warning or heads up is an issue.

it really is wild seeing mistakes as basic as unvalidated inputs not get picked up in audits, makes sense tho, they were out of scope. protocol security is expensive, except when you compare it to the cost of getting hacked.

future of hiring in crypto is either going to be 100% based on networks or developing tools to automatically screen NK applicants.

Looks like North Korea is onto the say "fuck kim jong un" trick. They probably got around it with LLM's.

Once the world settles its transactions on top of Ethereum, how loud we shouted it from the rooftops that ETH is money won't matter. Instead, being level headed, and executing on the long term roadmap is where we have edge.

What does this mean? We don't have to be toxic maxis, and we also don't need to extract every dollar out of rollups for blobspace while ETH is still in growth and distribution mode.

Switching costs get slowly built up over time as the financial stack gets reconstructed, and a new network of intermediaries, services and apps get built on top of these rails. Once this is in place, good luck moving to another network, the switching costs will be way too high.

When you put these together, you realize ETH is set up to have all of these properties. We already have composability, ETH having 100% uptime throughout its entire network life leads to institutions like JPM and Robinhood building on top of us.

Composability. Just like smart contracts compose one another as building blocks in DeFi, the current financial plumbing in TradFi is highly composed, with banks, payment processors and other financial institutions building on a layered network of APIs and services.

Self fulfilling prophecies. Once a system of account is in use across an economy, even if better systems are available, the liquidity and momentum of the status quo enforces lock in due to high switching costs.

Switching costs. Changing a unit of account is a massive undertaking for both consumer and businesses. Consumers receive income denominated in fiat currencies, SMBs denominate their business in a single currency. Changing payment rails for both parties is a huge cost.

Money has a couple of key properties that contribute to its network effects. 1. Switching costs.2. Self fulfilling prophecies - Liquidity begets liquidity.3. Composability.

Recently on the @BanklessHQ podcast, @TrustlessState said ETH holders need to be borderline toxic like Bitcoin maxis. It's an interesting perspective, but it doesn't resonate. On a long enough timeline, regardless of short term tactical missteps, eth wins. 🧵.
