Runoff from heavy rains create a waterfall in Tucker’s Grove Park near Santa Barbara. The flowing water will find its way to San Antonio Creek and eventually drain into the ocean.

Lighter than normal traffic passes through the community of Montecito along US Hwy 101 as rain continues to fall. An evacuation order was issued for identified properties and areas in the Thomas, Alisal, and Cave Fire as of 8:00 AM this morning.

SBC FF’s survey the damage caused by a 100’ eucalyptus tree that fell across San Jose Creek and partially onto Calle Real in the City of Goleta. With the ground already saturated and winds picking up, more will surely follow. Please treat all lines down as live wires & Call 911.

The height and speed of water has increased near the confluence of San Pedro Creek as it passes below Hollister Ave in the City of Goleta as the rainfall intensifies. Rain is expected to continue throughout the day.

Motorists drive though minor flooding on surface streets in the City of Goleta during a winter storm. A reminder to slow down, give extra time to get where you are going, and turn your headlights on so others may see you. Rain, heavy at times, is expected throughout the day.

#BRIDGE Incident- UPDATE- IC reports 3 separate accidents on the bridge due to icy conditions. 1 elderly male with moderate injuries required extrication and 2 pregnant females transported as a precaution. All taken to SB Cottage Hospital. Highway closed for unknown duration.

ICY ROAD CONDITIONS- #Bridge Incident-SBC and CHP on scene currently of an accident involving 8 passenger vehicles and 1 semi truck on Highway 154 at the Cold Spring Bridge. IC is reporting at least 3 injuries with some extrication required. Highway blocked at this time. C/T 7:30.

Highway 154 during the next several days may see intermittent closures due to snowfall or rockslides. Please check with Caltrans and CHP Santa Barbara & Buellton areas for road closure updates, and avoid any unnecessary travel on Highway 154.

Caltrans plows clear Highway 154 near the summit following a brief but impactful snowfall. The CHP had closed the popular highway in both directions for a time, but has since reopened.With another round of wintry weather in the forecast over the next 36 hours, please travel safe.

Winter Storm-A light snow falls along Painted Cave Rd and mtns above Santa Barbara Thurs morning.The storm will bring dangerous conditions Fri-Sat and a blizzard warning (the first since 1989) for the mtns of SoCal with snow down to 1000’ and 2-5” of rain in the lower elevations.
