It’s one thing to make a sports movie it’s another to make one that moves with a spirit and specificity as unique as this one. From the opening credits sequence we knew that MARTY SUPREME was going for the gold and was already nailing it. High difficulty. High reward.

MARTY SUPREME aka “This Fucking Guy: The Movie” (Safdie, 2025): One of the best movies I’ve ever seen about being an idiot in your 20s. Looks, sounds, and feels like losing your wallet in a crowd. Chalamet and Lopatin career best work.

Marty Supreme is another Safdie masterpiece and somehow even more anxiety inducing than Uncut Gems. This movie is proof Timothee Chalamet is an incredible actor when he’s actually given proper material. Best film of the year and one of the funniest I’ve seen in ages.
Got a ticket to the world premiere of Marty Supreme at NYFF tonight after being first on the standby line and waiting for 4 hours, very excited!
