A disappointingly misleading statement from the DfE about the @TheNFER #BaselineAssessment. Most schools, quite sensibly and responsibly, do indeed undertake an on entry assessment – using meaningful observation not a meaningless test. This distinction is important

@TeachMrN Level 5 involvement (Laevers) indicates max brain activity. This is seen in child-initiated play. This cannot be preplanned - so plan in the moment - observe, assess, plan and teach. No need for any forward planning. Consistent versatile Environment & adults are critical
