Just home after attending the conclusion of the inquest into Averil Hart’s tragic & avoidable death with my client @AverilsDad. So pleased that the conclusion echoes what we have been saying for 7 years. As the Coroner said: No more investigations. Now we need action and change.
A coroner has found that multiple failings in the care of student Averil Hart, who suffered anorexia and died aged 19, were probably causative of her death. Averil's family are represented by @EjonesEm

I agree - without Lizanne at the head of the Leigh Day & 1 COR team (Jim D, Duncan F and Iain OD) who knows where we would be. Our clients are disappointed their claim was sturck out on the facts but so glad that their case has helped to clarify the law/move it on for others.
I know a lot of other lawyers have been involved in these cases but I think one of the true and mostly unsung (outside of the profession) heroes is Lizanne Gumbel QC of @1CrownOfficeRow who has acted in nearly all key cases and has won them all (even when, as today, she lost!)

Yes we do, but the fact is that not all individuals can access qualified and regulated providers as we saw so starkly in the case of PW. Preventing MKF from doing work would mean that many individuals are left without help. MKF sassist the court if they know what they're doing
