Here's an explainer thread about what I think would happen in special education if the US Department of Education went away. I have no insider knowledge about plans, but this thread is how I would do it. đ§”.

The Chief of Naval Operations has the legal authority to enlist citizens of the Philippines directly into the US Navy (hundred year old law). Day 1, the new CNO needs to hang out a sign in Manila to recruit the best Filipino civilian mariners to work our sealift ships.

I saw this picture on my timeline and I truly wondered if someone had AI-ed up a photorealistic Colonel Sanders.
In the past 24 hours, Iâve spoken to some sources and I will say that theyâre going to be a lot of people who feel ridiculous for what they have said to defend John Bolton after they find out what he did. At the head of that list is @RepRaskin.

Hey @TheFIREorg, whatâs your take on âyour employer can limit your first amendment right of freedom of speech if you are not furthering the mission of the school districtâ in this context?.

It also took Arlington County a full decade to fully desegregate schools, a level of urgency that will be familiar to anyone who had kids in northern Virginia schools in 2020 and 2021. @angryarlmom.

Letâs pause here to note that Brown v. Board was decided in 1954, five years prior to the Arlington desegregation, if weâre going to claim relevance for things our school divisions did more than half a century ago.
Arlington was the 1st school district in Virginia to desegregate in 1959. This is entirely unacceptable &flies in the face of the work we have done to be an inclusive & welcoming community for all. We do not fight for progress by putting others down, we fight for equality for ALL.

Update: I swear, I had not seen this screenshot before I posted this thread.
