Why it matters πŸ‘‡. Too often, diverse communities are left out of research design, leading to mistrust, low participation & findings that don’t benefit everyone. This deepens health inequalities.

Our bodies respond to treatments differently. Genetics, biology and lived experience all impact outcomes. If research doesn’t reflect everyone, future treatments may not work for everyone.

Black women are twice as likely to be diagnosed at a late stage. South Asian women face an even higher risk of late-stage breast cancer. Late diagnosis = fewer treatment options and worse outcomes.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, but not everyone faces the same risks. For Black and South Asian communities, late diagnosis is far more common. And the reason? The research still isn’t inclusive. πŸ§΅πŸ‘‡.
