Very cool stuff from possibly a better Sullivan; even if the 'O' was dropped ;0 Nice one @fisheries_etc

Check out @nicolekleroux 's amazing field and model paper on tidal pumping of fractured bedrock aquifers showing intra-tidal resistivity changes and impacts of dyke overtopping and vertical saltwater intrusion
Excited to share my master’s research has been published! Findings reveal how the world’s highest tides influence groundwater-ocean exchanges, an important consideration for future dike management. Thanks to @NSERC_ResNet and @AAFC_Canada for the support! https://t.co/mTehdT9OQO

Drumroll.... happy to have my first pub from my PhD research out there into the world in @HydroProcesses! We take a look at shallow groundwater temperature patterns through a regional monitoring network! (Check out here: https://t.co/ruMOqBWMRF)

An excellent opportunity to work with @RiverSciLife. Greg's work on river form and functioning in relation to fish is truly top-notch. Link for posting here:

. . . at specific depth and velocity regimes worked like stink. Within 20 mins of dropping the boulders a drone shot revealed adult Atlantic salmon dialing into the hydraulics. Thermal refuges are more than temperature, hydraulics are critical . . . as is fish size!

Preliminary results from a thermal refuge augmentation my company oversaw last summer with @SalmonMiramichi . The aims were to (a) reduce thermal mixing (increase refuge length), (b) reduce swimming cost by accounting for thermo-hydrodynamics. The boulders positioned . . .

Always great to work with the @SalmonMiramichi. Their smolts wheels are critical for understanding variability in salmon populations and provide metrics on river ecosystem health and balance.
Our MSA field team has been on the Miramichi River daily fishing our smolt wheels on the Northwest branch and Dungarvon branch. To learn more or to read our 2022 smolt estimate report, visit: https://t.co/fuobzcc7Rg Special thanks to @CRI_News for their help with installation!

Trees in New Brunswick blow my mind. This is a pure postglacial deposit, not a hint of soil excluding the organic layer. Tough funkers!

Reading on salmonids bioenergetics and this nugget has been invaluable. Well worth a read for any folk studying salmonids and how the habitats they occupy (relating to temperature, velocity and fish size) change for optimal foraging. https://t.co/XQsVZ8uQhm

Thanks a million, Reid 🤓
Huge props to @EcoAntoin for taking the time to hang out & catch up with me (and let me post it online) 🎣 The @SixNationsRugby crack was a lot more clever before last weekend.

My company (O'Sullivan EcoHydraulics) worked with @SalmonMiramichi to augment a thermal refuge. A delta had formed leading to an increase in thermal mixing and pushed the plume into the thalweg. We augmented it with bioenergetics in mind. Pumped the MSA were my first client :)
The MSA recognizes the important role that cold water refuge plays in Atlantic Salmon conservation. In 2022, we teamed up with @EcoAntoin and Black Brook Salmon Club to restore a critical cold water site. Check out this video to learn more:

This paper should be imperative reading for all hydrologists and ecologists, alike. It succinctly details the importance of storage capacity - in the ground - as a 1st order control on flooding. An absolute belter! @TetzlaffEcoHyd @IainAMalcolm
