The announcement came on World Ranger Day—a reminder that good technology doesn’t replace people. It supports them. Helps them stay safe. Helps them act faster.

This isn't just a local project. Honduras joins Mexico, Panama, and Paraguay in taking EarthRanger nationwide, strengthening coordination across entire conservation networks.

Protected areas can securely share information with each other. If a ranger or jaguar crosses into another zone, authorized teams can still track movements—even if the devices/collars aren't theirs. Animation to give you an example of our EarthRanger-to-EarthRanger feature.

In Puca Wildlife Refuge, @WPSWatch camera traps are sending live alerts straight into EarthRanger—giving teams a real-time view of animal movements or signs of poaching.

With EarthRanger, Honduras is bringing multiple data streams together in one place: @globalforests alerts, GPS collar movements, wildlife sightings from @inaturalist & @Team_eBird, and community-submitted reports. This shared picture helps teams coordinate.

In places where reporting used to happen on paper, teams now see trends in real time: where illegal logging is happening, where conflict is rising, and where to focus limited resources.

With over 45 sites already live, the platform is helping more than 100 personnel from the National Ranger Program and @ICFHonduras log patrols, monitor wildlife, and respond more quickly to threats.

Through a national effort led by @ICFHonduras and MOCAPH, EarthRanger is being deployed across 75 protected areas—connecting rangers, data, and decisions in one system.
