40,000 teachers walking away year on year from teaching, number rising not falling. So - pay rises haven't helped (yet, but I don't think they will), ECF hasn't helped, workload reduction groups and reports, CPD offers, wellbeing Wednesdays etc etc Why? 4 things *still* remain

I had an student arrive in September with no English and she had never been in a British curriculum school before. Today she independently wrote her innovated version of The Gruffalo with UAE animals, applying Phonics and using sight words 🥹 #Year1 #ReadWriteInc #ELL #progress

Started reading The Twits to my class yesterday to introduce chapter books and comprehension over a longer period of time but we’ve had to stop because it gave one of my boys nightmares 🙈 any other suggestions for short but fun chapter books for Year 1? #year1 #ks1 #booktwitter
