Del Toro's Frankenstein is a visually stunning loveletter to classic gothic horror with a surprisingly tender heart but a few adaptation choices just hold it back from being the definitive version of Shelley's novel. Got loads of ideas for approaches and readings of it though.

Putting my money where my mouth is and filling my library with indie horror today. @DevMoonGlint and @TaintedPact are top of the to-play list but the others look all kinds of fun too :)

October Horror watching with my 18 year old is a real roller coaster. Was planning paternity tests when he gave the Hammer Dracula 2/5 but 4 for Hellraiser has redeemed him somewhat. Most disturbing film for him so far has been The Fly :)
