Another thornback ray tagged and we are up to 19 tagged over the last two weeks. Lots of rain these past days but soon back again fishing for more!

The world-first acoustic tag with in-built magnetometer, will give us insights into the magnetic field strength around power cable from Offshore Wind Farms 🧲🔬 With this we can investigate the potential influence of the cables on sensitive wildlife such as sharks and rays 🦈🔌

Great day for #EMFish! We have received the first 3 prototypes of acoustic tags from @ThelmaBiotel with the newly developed magnetometer sensor 😍 These tags will allow us study the dispersion of electromagnetic fields around the subsea cables used in offshore wind farms 🔌🧲🔬

The last member of the #EMFish project is @lottesdahlmo, a PhD candidate studying spiny dogfish behaviour in response to deoxygenation in fjords 🦈🔬 She has several years of experience tracking fish and sharks & is fascinated about aquatic animal movement ecology 🦞
