We have advised the UK Government that a change to the Equality Act 2010 - so that ‘sex’ means biological sex - could bring clarity in a number of areas, but potential ambiguity in others. We have suggested that they carefully identify and consider the potential implications.
We have provided advice to the Minister for Women and Equalities on the definition of the protected characteristic of 'sex' in the Equality Act 2010. Find out more: https://t.co/EVpO3EQoaf

Tackling antisemitism isn’t only about policy and procedure, it must be enabled by a culture that truly reflects zero tolerance of harassment and discrimination of Jewish students. Meaningful action must be taken immediately to implement the recommendations of this investigation.

The human rights we enjoy today have been hard won. Our role is to make sure they remain protected today, and for future generations, so that governments and others fulfil their obligations to uphold rights, and we can all live freely and fairly in a rights-respecting society.
Is there more work yet to do on protecting human rights? ✍️ As we mark #HumanRightsDay2022, @KishwerFalkner, Chairwoman of @EHRC writes🔽 #PartnerContent

The law is clear; no one should be subjected to harassment or discrimination. As an employer and a public body, the London Fire Brigade must act immediately on the recommendations of this review, to protect its employees and the public from racism, discrimination and harassment.

Several hair discrimination cases have gone to court and we continue to hear of new cases. In schools, hair discrimination can have serious and long-lasting consequences for its young victims. Our new guidance says schools must permit certain hairstyles to comply with the law.
This video is one of the new resources we have developed to help schools better understand and end #hairdiscrimination. Watch 👇 https://t.co/isQSFqKpEH

This is among the first of the cases funded through our legal support scheme to conclude. By helping victims of discrimination get justice, we demonstrate our commitment to advancing race equality across Britain.
A settlement has been reached in the case of a civil servant who alleged she experienced racial discrimination, harassment, and victimisation in the workplace. We funded the final hearing through our legal support scheme. Find out more: https://t.co/B2Nvd35FnH
