EFE 330 continues to be thankful for our partnership with Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 149. The EFE Summer Construction class visited their training hall to learn about careers in the industry and practice hands-on skills.

Summer is here and that means another great partnership between EFE, Parkland, and the local Building Trades to support the Construction Trades pathway. June 10-June 27 is the EFE Summer Construction class. We have 18 juniors and seniors from 8 high schools enrolled in the class.

Record applications for next year's Early College and Career Academy (ECCA @parklandcollege) programs seems to back up this sentiment.

This morning, members of the joint Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team presented to students from the @parklandcollege Early College & Career Academy. Students in the program are from Champaign, Piatt, Douglas, and Ford counties with an interest in Criminal Justice.

EFE summer construction class is underway at @parklandcollege. Students will learn basic construction skills and safety and visit IBEW 601, Plumbers and Pipefitters 149, and @UofIFS. Another beneficial partnership between EFE, Parkland, the building trades, and @Illinois_Alma.

Last fall @EFE330 took the shop teachers on a tour of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 218 training facility. Tonight I’m proud to say that ‘22 graduate Tyler Casey and current senior Garrett Clark were accepted into this year’s apprenticeship class. Very proud of these young men.

Great trip to the Champaign County Satellite Jail this morning for the Early College and Career Academy at @parklandcollege Criminal Justice Class. Thank you to @ChampCoSheriff office, Lt. Sapp, and Sheriff Heuerman for meeting with the students.

Last week was Trade-Up 2023 for 8th graders. 200 students were in attendance at this event made possible through partnerships between EFE 330, @parklandcollege, and the East Central IL Building Trades. Students learned about careers within the trades and other hands-on paths.

Last Monday, Jerremy mentioned to Quinn that we needed a new welding table dedicated to big projects. I drew something up for them and they got to work. Now we’re just waiting on the 1/4” top to show up but we had to show off the grid before we covered it up.

Here are the 11 students along with Ms. Medina who attended the future educator conference in Champaign today. I can't wait for them to join us in this noble profession. @EFE330
