Can anyone recommend existing resources for running small in-class experiments where students can easily download and analyse the data from the whole class? (I know I could code this up, but was hoping something already exists that we can just use!).

Using a simple optical flow model, we can use geometrical regularities in objects to predict qualitatively distinct viewpoints. This works for familiar, symmetrical, novel, & asymmetrical objects! We can even predict where people will perceive the front to be on novel objects!!.

How can we decide which viewpoints of an object are qualitatively special? How do we know where the front is, for objects we've never seen before? In our new paper we provide a quantiative account of why some object viewpoints are qualitatively special.

Not to mention the cost of partner visas, and trying to find a job for a foreign partner in a country that is becoming increasingly hostile to migrants. I’m lucky to have a UK passport so could move easily, but my German husband can’t get a job in the UK.
