Each of the emails contains a link, asking residents to verify their payment details/status of their Council Tax account. This is a scam. East Dunbartonshire Council would never email you about Council Tax arrears.

People are being warned to be on their guard against scam Council Tax emails. There have been reports from across the country of people receiving emails purporting to be sent by their Local Authority, advising that a payment to their Council Tax account is outstanding.
