It will save many parents of newborn babies sleepless nights of worry in ICU, not to mention avoid cancellation of elective surgeries. The pilot programme last year led to a 76% drop in hospital admissions and 65% drop in ICU admissions of babies with RSV. Fantastic. 👏
The RSV immunisation will be offered in maternity hospitals to all babies born between 1 September this year and 28 February next year and will be available to babies aged less than six months old on 1 September https://t.co/u9IrybOdQk

This is incredible news - all babies under 6mo will be eligible for RSV immunisation from September 1st. This is will have an even bigger impact on our PICU beds than last year and save hundreds of infants and their families the stress of hospital admission 🥳👏🏻
Nirsevimab was pivotal in preventing RSV bronchiolitis last Winter. The immunisation scheme will be expanded this year to include infants from 6 months to 1 year of age as well as newborns. Please share as uptake is so vital to keep babies safe 👶🏻🦠 https://t.co/KokcxnuEts
