Just to get a sense of how off-kilter our politics has become. Just TODAY we have: * an expose revealing our HHS Sec "still uses psychedelics, and even smoked dimethyltryptamine." * a report that the Dept FBI Director wasn't given a background check * a report that Michael

📍Senator Fetterman had a VFIB—the leading cause of cardiac arrest—he almost died if not for his implanted defibrillator, which can cost $34,000 to over $51,000. Days ago, he also just voted with GOP to gut health insurance tax credits for millions. Hope he has change of heart.

The Epstein files were under seal during the Biden adminnistration due to Ghislane Maxwell's trial. No one had access to them and anyone with any information about what is in them would be putting that trial in jeopardy and risking a mistrial. If people understood how our system

She's brilliant. Honestly, think about how many voters you could win over by just having a visible effect on things they pay for day-to-day, right down to a beer at a baseball game.
Lina Khan is quietly mapping out how New York’s incoming mayor Zohran Mamdani can use overlooked city and state laws to make daily life cheaper — from Yankee stadium beer to basic medicines, Semafor reports. People familiar with the transition say she’s identified a broad

Fetterman just voted to double our healthcare premiums, and now, 3 days later, he's having a health emergency. Using our tax dollars, he'll get a level of care that he's ensured we can't afford ourselves.
John Fetterman was taken to the hospital after suffering from a “ventricular fibrillation flare-up” and falling near his home

Holy crap. Politico is reporting that the House has enough petition signers to force a vote on restoring collective bargaining rights for thousands of federal workers, but Hakeem Jeffries has stalled the effort to prevent Mike Lawler from getting credit as the decisive signature.

God damn, this is insane.
The assassination of UnitedHealth's CEO and the public pressure behind it spooked them into changing their policies and denying fewer claims so noticeably that their investors sued them! It certainly seems like it was more effective than Democrats taking money from UnitedHealth.

I was right there in 1971. The whole area was rubble of Palestinian houses that had been demolished after the families living in them were thrown out so Jews could have more room to pray at the Wall. I didn't really know what I was seeing. Now I understand clearly. There is no
A house like this has no price. And it really exists. Waking up every morning, opening your eyes and standing in front of the Western Wall 🇮🇱 feeling the holiness as close as possible.✡️ Would you like to live in a house like this ?

After all this time trying to convince liberals that Lieberman, Manchin & Sinema weren't stubborn outliers, but party approved designated villains in place to block progress against their donors wishes & Democrats just went out and confessed the entire game.
Kaine said while only 8 D's voted with R's, more wanted to see the shutdown end. " I can tell you this, there were a lot more than 8 that were really happy that the 8 of us voted them the way we did." "But I'm not going to put words in anybody's mouth."

@EricLevitz @sunraysunray More concretely, I think China has proven that state-management of markets is superior to laissez-faire in terms of the development of the productive forces. But the CCP is also an authoritarian monstrosity. I’d very much like to see a robustly democratic version of that approach

It's genuinely amazing that Trump was being forced to shut down a bunch of airports/flights because of funding And Democrats, right before Thanksgiving when they would have had insane amounts of leverage, went "cool, let's cave"

UPDATE: The Senate votes 53-47 to shoot down the Baldwin amendment to extend ACA funds for 1 year. A party-line vote with every Republican rejecting it.
An important vote in this series: @SenatorBaldwin’s proposal to extend ACA expiring funds for 1 year. It’s structured as a motion to table (i.e. scrap it from the amendment tree). But it’ll show the appetite (or lack thereof) in the Senate to address this issue.
