3 hours and 42 minutes later … we have a WALK OFF winner in one of the craziest games you’ll ever see. New York scores 5 in the first on the Frontier League’s top arm, surrenders the lead late, and Christian Ficca drives home Santino Rosso to win it in 10!. Same time tomorrow?

JJ Reddick once said on his pod that when he was a rookie, coaches would empty the bench up 15 to start the fourth quarter because the game was over . It’s really awesome that nowadays teams up 20 with 5 minutes left have to keep their foot on the gas.

“We outplayed them for 90% of the game we’re not worried”. -Celtics to Knicks after game 1.-Knicks to Pacers after game 1.-Thunder to Pacers after game 1. We’re in the era of scoring variance and pace/3pt volume where no 2nd half lead under 40 points is safe and i love it.

4. The Big Bodega. Adding to the last point,. KAT eviscerated the pacers this year (30ppg, 12rpg). With Turner on guarding him 1 on 1, he dominated in the post. When they switched Nesmith/Siakam onto him or attempted to blitz Brunson, he torched them from the outside with pick.

3. The Josh Hart Dilemma. The Celtics put Kornet and Porzingis on Josh Hart, basically daring him to shoot, and allowing them to put more athletic / versatile defenders on KAT. Thibs punished this by using Josh as a screener in PnR/pick and pop actions. His ability to playmake

2. Ball Pressure / Shot Clock Management. Indiana’s guards always pressure the ball in the backcourt. The Knick offense is slow, methodical, and they have longer possessions / assist less than any team remaining in the playoffs. The Pacers may not force a ton of turnovers, but.

1. Rotations / Coverages. The Pacers lead the NBA Playoffs in total passes, assist rate (69 freaking percent!) and points off assists. The Knicks just wrapped a series against a Celtics team HEAVILY dependent on matchup hunting and iso ball (2nd in the NBA in iso possessions)
