A shift before the storm this morning. The Wagyu's have had a mixed performance this grazing season. The best achieving 1.45kg/dlwg/day on grass with the worst way behind on 0.49kgs! (Av. 0.9kgs). Deep dive into stats points to difference in calf management pre arrival.

It can take generations to set up farms that survive the vicissitudes of weather and war. It takes a single government, fired with resentment and unable to imagine a time when food runs scarce, to destroy them.

Listen to this clip below👇🏼 I urge you to listen to this and tell me that the Welsh Labour Government’s bovine TB eradication strategy has worked at all over the past decade, or even longer. The financial cost, the animal welfare impact and the emotional strain. And are we
"The numbers that came out recently would suggest we're losing control of this disease." Our TB Focus Group Chair, Roger Lewis, has given a heartbreaking account of the impact bovine TB has had on his farm and family. Listen to the full interview ➡ https://t.co/nMMrpNkI57

Cheap food does/never did exist! All food production comes at a price-only difference being the amount of protection successive Govts are prepared to give to consumers by subsidised farm production. Beef price today is relative to 1982-markets adjusting to reduced interventions!

£2.5bn for British steel. That’s the same as the annual budget for agriculture…. Steel industry employs 33,700 - contributes £1.8bn to the economy 🏭 Agriculture employs 285,000 - contributes £13.7bn to the economy 🌾
UK govt is committed to handing £2.5bn to steel companies rather than nationalising. Companies will own the resulting assets, income streams. Govt will not take an equity stake, make the amount a repayable loan. It is free money. Why no questions about corporate welfare?

Enjoyed the company of nearly 200 Dutch farmers here at Cae Haidd over the last 3 weeks in favourable weather ☀️. Many interesting questions and conversations - good to share experiences and common challenges (NVZ's and Govt support) Beginning to think that they know me too well!

For any doubters out there that believe that @ProagriLtd and the @NFUtweets team aren't giving blood sweat and tears into pursuing the reversal of the IHT policy on our industry's behalf, show me the man, woman or anything in between that comes anywhere near the commitment shown!
@ProagriLtd makes some excellent points in this interview today at Conference.👌 https://t.co/wTNiGNMvlp

There’s been 16 PM’s since my grandfather bought the farm in 1960, currently we have the most damaging PM in three generations. Food production should be protected at all costs. Governments come and go, while we lay down the foundations for the next generation of farmers.
