40 years after my first article (for the Bradford Star), I’m pursuing a dream friends & family have grown tired of me yapping about. Next month I join other farming students at the Royal Agricultural University. It’s been a joy and a privilege to end my time in broadcasting @LBC

The Chinese Communist Party subjugates its own people, and would do the same to us if it could. Why on earth are we allowing them to open a new embassy in London - Europe’s biggest - sitting on top of some our capital’s most sensitive data cables. Craven.

In what conceivable way is painting your hands with fake blood to protest about war something to smile about. Israel’s enemies are so detached from reality that they make the macabre frivolous. Repugnant on every level.

It requires an effort of imagination to ignore the woes of modern Britain. An economy vandalised; a culture upended and demographics irrevocably distorted. I have never met so many otherwise patriotic people who now feel the destiny of their children lies beyond these shores.

This retrospective wisdom and Boris-bashing is predictable and daft. To conclude lockdown should’ve happened a week earlier is the height of hindsight. It relies on models we learned to distrust & requires us to forget how nobody had a Scoobie at the time.

The inquiry says an earlier lockdown could have saved 23,000 lives in the first wave in England - and lockdown could have been avoided altogether with earlier interventions.

Demented on multiple levels. Why wouldn't a new media company aim to "replace the BBC". More importantly, who cares how much GB News pays its staff. Its investors risked money on a commercial venture. The BBC, by contrast, is guaranteed funding from the obligatory license fee.

As political ambitions go, this is an astonishingly low bar. A pledge to use MoD bases designed to defend the realm into encampments for predominantly young foreign men of uncertain motive. Many of these sites - if filled - will morph once safe villages and towns into hellscapes.

Nick Timothy is right. Our deliberations about migration - illegal and legal - will continue to be hamstrung if we fail to understand why migrants from some countries help the UK, while others hinder. That information needs to be shared and acted upon. Not all cultures are equal

Shabana Mahmood says she likes the Danish immigration model. So do I. They publish data on who contributes and who doesn’t. People from the Middle East, North Africa, Pakistan and Turkey are net recipients. But Mahmood refused to publish this data here.

It will seem outlandish that a Labour MP representing any city in Yorkshire can paint attempts to stem the flow of illegal migrants as "cruel". To walk through parts of Sheffield, Rotherham, Hull, Bradford or Leeds is to bear witness to a new dystopia. There's the cruelty.

These proposals are not only cruel, they are catastrophically impractical. The Refugee Council estimates this could generate 1.4 million new review cases by 2035, at a cost of over £870 million. This is bureaucracy for its own sake.

Yes, we should suspend visas for countries that don't cooperate when we enforce our border. But in the first half of 2025, just 120 people applied for asylum here from these three countries, out of 49,701 people total. That’s 0.2%. It isn’t going to touch the sides.

This is an important distinction. The BBC won’t disappear. It is a brand with global recognition and a valuable back-catalogue of shows. But the compulsion at the heart of its funding model is unsustainable. Millions resent being forced to pay for an outlet so obviously biased.

Labour’s new (and impressive) Home Secretary rightly says illegal migration is “tearing the country apart”. True. But she ignores the greater crisis of legal migration which, first under Blair - but even when Boris was PM - has added 10m people in 20 years.

The Daily Mail wouldn’t consider its worldview anti-monarchist. So why do its writers insist on routinely stripping the Princess of Wales of her royal title. Andrew Mountbatten Windsor deserved his downgrade. But what did the future Queen do wrong?

Labour’s Home Secretary understands unfettered mass immigration to the UK has proved to be the ruin of social cohesion. Her proposals are commendable. They stand zero-chance of passing into law, even with Tory support. Her own backbenchers will see to that

Forget top-tier resignations. The pomposity and priggishness of the BBC goes beyond individuals. It has actively sought to portray other media outlets as inadequate. It has squeezed the life out of local papers and would do the same to new TV entrants like GB News. Defund now.

Large parts of Britain are waking up to the fact that many of their countrymen do not esteem the BBC as an article of liberal faith. They’re stunned so many people have come to the reluctant conclusion that a once great institution has become an instrument of social engineering.
