I keep thinking about this dog, red Fox. Russians beat him up, broke his paws, threw him in the dumpster and mined him before leaving him to die. Sappers saved Fox. He is now recovering. It's been 130 days of war, we think we've seen everything. But vileness has no limits.

Wise words, but today my heart goes out to the survivors of Srebrenica. The endured 30 years of heyet continue life with a dignity, discipline and alack of vengeance that I simply cant explain. What a country, what a people.

Yesterday Bosnian Hon Consul ( The UKs first๐ง๐ฆ) @Almira_db pointed out that while we can be despondent at lessons not being learned in Gaza, Ukraine etc, we should also consider how many killings have been deterred because of the justice delivered to Srebrenica's criminals

And so it began. We started @BeyondSreb and with amazing support from @scotgov our board of volunteers have used the lessons of Srebrenica, to challenge hate and intolerance in Scotland. EVERY one of the 60 or so people that I've taken to Bosnia has had their life changed by it

It was another 19 years until I got my answers. A trip to Srebrenica in 2014. It was horrifying but the dignity of the survivors shone through and I knew that I then had to share their stories

It was 1995- no mobile.phones, no internet and in war ravaged Bosnia, no news. It wasnโt until weeks later, back.home that the sheer horror of what had happened became apparent.

As a young aid worker, I watched the refugees arriving from Srebrenica. I knew something was wrong- there were no guys.

Off to visit a tree at @RBGEPress for a small gathering to commemorate 30 yrs since the Srebrenica Genocide. Seeds from the endangered Srebrenica Spruce were brought to Edinburgh, planted, nurtured and allowed to flourish. Our very own โRefuge-tr-eesโ.

If only @ScotGov had asked those who have been there. ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ.Military medical aid is civil medical aid in many parts of Ukraine. Army medics treat civilians. A ridiculous caveat which will endanger the lives of the people the aid was intended to help.

It makes me wonder about Eastern Ukraine and the devastation I saw there and of course to Gaza. How long to rebuild these towns and cities? We really are an insane species.
