Durango loses its opening game of the season, 35-14, against Montrose at Durango High School. The Demons fell behind 28-0 at half after they couldn't stop the Montrose run game. Durango showed some offensive promise in the second half with its rushing attack. @coloradopreps.

Durango found its running attack to start the fourth. The combination of Gus Halls and @GradyHFeeney drove the Demons deep into the red zone. Feeney rushed into the end zone from 6 yards out to make 35-14 Montrose with nine minutes left.
