Here De Masi is selling the growth of Hilbert space dimension of IonQ systems as making actual progress.
Niccolo de Masi has been telling investors that the next IonQ system will be hundreds of millions of times more powerful than the current system. This is a Theranos-level misrepresentation. Hilbert space dimensionality and computational power are two different things.

Yesterday Sergey Frolov and Vincent Mourik scrutinized Microsoft's new Nature paper and Majorana 1 chip announcement in a "fireside chat". They are both serious scientists with deep expertise in this subject, and they raised some very serious criticisms (to put it mildly).
