Some of his fair-weather fans might disagree, but I think this Earl verse is CRAZY (can't help the folks that are unable to accept that the same Earl that did "Chum", IDLSIDGO and SRS also clicked with Drakeo and G Herbo)

Kool G dropping a full album with the Alchemist in 2022 would potentially have far-reaching impact. It would sends a message to rap artists over 50 that they can not only drop good music, but aesthetically “on trend” music without an expiration date

@desusnice that's a great take. I thought the Ye album was like being high but having to listen to someone way higher than you try to tell you a story with no beginning or ending...I was listening on my couch and still thinking "is it over? I really just wanna go home."

@b1ankthought They would probably hate it. Like most of what I hear from Cole, I feel like he fits the need for a conscious-ish, lyrical MC that knows how to write mainstream songs, but makes sure to keep all bars as "on the nose" as possible. It's lyricism with training wheels, but necessary

Mainstream does what mainstream has been doing for years now: plucks trends from indy/under the radar artists and packages it for mass distribution. It’s cool on a case by case basis, but it’s also why there has been such little creative direction driven by mainstream stables

If The Alchemist drops projects with Curren$y, Roc Marciano and any additional high quality work at all before year's end (all of which is highly possible), I think we are looking at the greatest two year span of a rap producer's career since RZA with the first wave of Wu albums

In rap music, stealing bars, trends or ideas makes you a biter. But if you put a line in your verse from another MC, but EVERYONE already knows that line from another song that's part of the culture, that's not biting. To me that is an obvious homage

It you're not considering @WESTSIDEGUNN an option, you will regret that move. Are the options of Alchemist, Pete Rock, Elzhi & Anderson Paak insufficient?

For the record...I met Your Old Droog and he was cool, down to earth & there to support some fellow artists like family. My read is that he's just not with the industry b.s., and Twitter coverage from self-appointed tastemakers is often chock-full of industry b.s., that's all...

Rare case of production, rapping & wrestling themes all being quality without one dependent on the other (take out the wrestling references the music is still dope, downgrade the prod. or rhyming, the other is still good, etc.)…all around good tape

It’s very hard to explain to anyone that wasn’t there exactly what it was like hearing Supreme Clientele for the first time. I wouldn’t even know what to compare that to.

There needs to be a Willie The Kid album produced by Roc Marciano and I will accept nothing less.

We live during a period of human history with both Ka and billy woods in their creative prime and penning some of the greatest words in music history. That’s crazy.
