Glad to sign on to this letter asking for STAAR to be canceled for ‘20-‘21. Teachers and students are doing their best under the circumstances, and shouldn’t be penalized by testing that will not accurately reflect the quality of their education.

This AM, I sent a bipartisan letter to the TEA requesting that TX seek the federal waivers necessary to cancel the STAAR test. At most, STAAR should only be used as a diagnostic tool, as opposed to determine sanctions under the A-F accountability system.
