I tend to post about all the cool stuff that I do, but sometimes it blows up in my face. Figured I should probably post about that, too. 😄 I tried to take my son fishing this morning and nearly everything went wrong. The bait shop was closed, so we had to go find some other

Because it’s only divisive when the other tribe is doing it. This is sadly just as true with Christian X as it is with politics. Maybe worse.

Most of my high school age students have never toasted a marshmallow over a fire. I’ve made it a point to try to change that. Today was s’mores day.

This is an amazing illustration of God's personhood in Judges 10: "I will no more deliver you, let [the foreign gods] deliver you." The Israelites said, "We have sinned," and they put away foreign gods from among them… And God's soul could no longer endure the misery of Israel.

Spent most of the evening working on the Nissan. It’s been a good car, but its compactness compared to the minivan makes even minor repairs a pain in the neck. And it’s by necessity only. I don’t enjoy working on cars at all. At least I can, though. 🙏

Though I’m sure this person would call me a liar and say I can’t bear it, and if I don’t, that’s proof I’m a liar. 😏

In response to me blocking them. Amos means “burden bearer,” and choosing not to bear someone else’s immature behavior doesn’t mean I can’t. 💪

True for pretty much all identity groups, and something we all need to self-examine for. "...identity politics leads people to create double standards for those defined as oppressors or heretics and their in-group."
I do not have a hot take on the Bassham/Sills/Lyell controversy. I know that I referenced in my forthcoming book on identity politics how Bassham treated the accusations against Sills with more nuance than she does of the accusations against Greear. The fact that she attempted to

Ryan pointed out to me that there is a current CFA page that has similar language, though somewhat more softly couched. I also remembered a screenshot circulating in 2023 that was similar. https://t.co/SR1fpEu8a5 Just wanted to add that for the sake of transparency.
When you have 66k followers, it might not hurt to do a little fact-checking first before you post hot takes like this. I’m not saying he’s certainly wrong, but that single random screenshot from a source hostile to CFA is absolutely sus.

This is sad to me. My family & I have long enjoyed eating at @ChickfilA. No more. From now on we will head to @SteaknShake with it's healthier food & big, beautiful American flag.

I especially love the last line, which implies that when we respond to adversity with trust and in joy, it highlights the goodness of God to our children.

Based on my experience in Celebrate Recovery, there is a lot the church could learn from recovery organizations
An alcoholic friend of Philip Yancey once said to him: “When I'm late to church, people turn around and stare at me with frowns of disapproval. I get the clear message that I'm not as responsible as they are. When I'm late to AA, the meeting comes to a halt and everyone jumps

I've repeatedly posted about the need for kindness in theological disagreements, even as X's most popular voices continue to set a terrible example of this. It's no different in politics. Such a reprehensible and mean-spirited statement is unbecoming of the President of the USA.
