Four reforms to fix our ⚡️🔌 queues from AEU:.1) Adopt an interconnection entry fee for proactively planned capacity.2) Implement a fast-track process to utilize existing and already-planned capacity.3) Optimize the study process.4) Speed up the transmission construction backlog.

There are a myriad of additional services such as black start and virtual inertia that batteries can provide ⚡️. In order to get the most of this increasingly-deployed resource, utilities and grid operators can:

Grid batteries can also provide stability services like frequency, voltage, and reactive power regulation. Last year, Texas entered into a grid-wide energy emergency alert due to an unexpected drop in system stability - batteries stepped in to help save the day🔋

Grid batteries aren't your average laptop battery - they can do much more. Their most well-known capability is balancing supply and demand, esp with variable renewables. But they can also ramp at some of the fastest rates around, like 8 GW over 5 hrs 🤯 on this day in California!

89% carbon emissions reduction by 2030 AND saving customers billion$ 🤑! Now that's the sort of climate-aligned utility plan that we like to hear. ⚡️.

👂Why invest in clean energy, you ask?. Tri-State Electric Co-op just announced plans to bring 1.25 GW of clean energy online, which would save their members $1.8 B compared to biz as usual thru 2043 and allow cuts to their emissions in CO 89% by 2030. 🙌🏼.

Every time I hear about the "next best thing" in climate tech I approach it with skepticism, and this is a great example of why. Reminder that wind, solar, storage, and transmission are here now, cost effective, and proven, and we still have a long way to go in deployment!.

I’ve spent the last 1.5 years researching the climate benefits of “clean” #hydrogen. Here are 10 things I’ve learned:. 1/ Conventional wisdom is WRONG. Hydrogen (H2) made from renewables and water is not inherently climate neutral and can still contribute to climate change.

When is the conversation surrounding the US's inability to act on climate change or literally anything these days going to finally pivot back to 2010 Citizens United when the US gave corporations rights to unlimited political bribery?
