It's that time of year when all of the meteorologists post memes proving how much smarter they are than a groundhog because it doesn't have a meteorology degree or something. I for one love the tradition. 🇺🇸

(2/2)...(example: “T-Bob Boudreaux’s Weather Page”) that literally survive on clickbait and fear-driven posts. ...and before any good-faith independent weather pages take offense, we both know the bad actors exist.

(1/2) I have stronger criticisms of modern journalism than most in the industry, yet I’m continually amazed how quickly people accuse local TV meteorologists of hyping storms for “ratings” or something, while unquestioningly following independent weather pages...

Why do so many insist on using these graphics? Are we forced to because they look "cool," because everyone else does it, or are they truly helpful? To me, it's the equivalent of standing in front of the 7-day, burdening the ability to properly encode the message for vanity's sake
