Please listen to Regie Routman's incredible discussion: “I think of curriculum as conversation. The conversations we have, the questions that kids formulate, that we formulate – the level of conversation that goes on really determines the depth of the learning that goes on.”
Learn practical, easy-to-implement strategies and actions for more effective teaching and learning such as the power of storytelling, poetry writing, teaching with empathy, the reading-writing connection. See video session on my homepage at https://t.co/crSIbePhAK

And yet just keep accelerating testing and placing undue faith in the results - further blinding us to what kids bring to the table
"The great irony of the power of high-stakes testing in the education accountability era is that it has proven only one thing: Weighing a pig does not make it fatter. Testing, testing, and testing has not improved schools, teachers, or students." https://t.co/3EODq0lAhO

It truly is baffling Paul. The continued utter misrepresentations of numbers to justify L another crisis is yet again wasting time money and energy
I cannot understand continuing to make false claims about students reading at grade level. NAEP "proficiency" is NOT grade level; "basic" is close to what most states consider "proficient" or "grade level" https://t.co/ASmHBgu1CI
