A great day with future clinical psychologists at Coventry DClinPsy today. Some great discussion and reflections as we practiced formulating a case of traumatic brain injury. Hopefully we met a few future neuropsychologists today! #DClinPsy

@alzheimerssoc you have many amazing resources for clients I work with, but I am not sure I can reconcile signposting to these when they may also discover a video like this, by that same respected resource.

What message is this sending?! How will this advert be experienced by those who receive a diagnosis? For my patient, I worry that watching something like this from a respected source would provide a tipping point.

Watching horrified, this latest campaign video from @alzheimerssoc & reflecting on a client who only recently spoke to me terrified, feeling that a diagnosis meant their life was no longer worth living. It is possible to live a life full of love and meaning after diagnosis…

An fantastic final week at @UofGlasgow topped off with Gordon Dutton talking passionately about the importance of identifying cortical visual impairments, and Ingram Wright @clinicalneuro sharing his wealth of knowledge on executive functioning in children. Now to get revising!

Finally took the plunge and got some admin support… I highly recommend them. They’re cheap (paid in snacks), enthusiastic and keep telling me ‘I’m the best ever’.

There’s certainly been a lot of plate spinning going on the last fortnight thanks to poorly kids and I’ve definitely chosen to drop some (looking at you, laundry pile!). But at the end of the week I’m still smiling and thanks to amazing colleagues and patients.

Looking forward to talking to @DrMarianneTrent and her group of aspiring psychologists tonight about all things neuro. So to colleagues, what do you love about working in neuro? What surprises you? Or what do you wish someone had told you when starting out your career?
