And no more teaching Aboriginal kids to be ‘resilient’ without enforcing anti-racism policies for non-Indigenous teachers and students so that our kids don’t need to be so resilient in the first place.

Prof Brendan Hokowhitu says the Western Academy doesn’t just try to control Western knowledge, but what knowledge is itself & this is problematic for #IndigenousStudies. It is systemically racist.

Since we’re tweeting about John Howard here’s a fun bit of trivia: the ‘75 Racial Discrimination Act has only ever been suspended on 3 occasions. Each time it was suspended in order for the govt to do racist shit which the RDA could have made unlawful. Each time was under Howard.

Heartbroken at the loss of this great man, Jack Charles, in our lives. He accomplished so much despite the shocking human rights abuses he suffered, stolen from his family, criminalised and so much more, but he won in the end. https://t.co/mdCkSdx4sz
