FGM may be 0.3% nationally, but for girls in Karamoja & Sebei, it’s 100% real. Laws matter but lasting change comes from communities leading the shift. To meet the SDGs by 2030, we must invest in youth influencers’ voices, culture-sensitive alternatives & youth empowerment.

FGM is still practiced in some Karamoja & Sebei communities, despite national stats showing 0.3%. Laws aren’t enough, real change happens at the grassroots #EndFGM #Karamoja #Sebei

Serious question: Do people actually exist who genuinely enjoy staying home all day, completely alone, without seeing anyone?

Contraception which you’re mistaking for “family planning” isn’t a reward for marriage. It’s healthcare and a human right. Women can choose to use it whenever they want, married or not. And yes, consenting adults having sex even what you call “casual” isn’t a crime.

Another thing, it should be basic knowledge for every woman out there to understand her cycle and safe days very well because why is a person who is not married on family planning? What family are you planning, you who is having casual sex 🤨?

Birth control can change how your hormones regulate your period, and after stopping it, your cycle may take a few months to readjust. That’s normal. What’s not normal is how little accurate information many women are given about their own menstrual health.

Impactful that you’ve integrated this into the curriculum it shows our advocacy for comprehensive sexuality education has not been in vain. Comprehensive sexuality education is not a privilege, it’s a priority for every young person. Well done @GODFREY_Kutesa

Preparing for my pre entry exams, a lawyer asked me why I wanted to do law.I said to fight for the rights of others. He laughed and said it was a childish dream that I would outgrow. 4 years later, I am graduating with an LLB (hons). And I still believe the law is about justice!

Zero Tolerance Day may be over, but the fight against FGM continues. Grateful to see partners and agencies speaking up now let the action, commitments, and advocacy go beyond one day. Let’s protect every girl and push for #ZeroFGM every single day. #Invest2EndFGM @unfpachief

No girl or woman should face the trauma and lifelong health risks of female genital mutilation (FGM). There is no safe form of FGM. It violates the rights to health, safety, and bodily autonomy. Join @UNFPA in taking a stand to #EndFGM.

An estimated 2.5 million girls are at risk of FGM by 2030. Behind these numbers are real lives, real pain, and stories we still have the power to change. With sustained commitment and collective action, we can end FGM and achieve #ZeroFGM by 2030. #Invest2EndFGM @UNICEFUganda

This year’s call is clear. Ending FGM requires sustainable investment in communities, in girls’ education, in survivor support, and in long-term behavior change, not short-term projects. Because when investment is consistent, abandonment becomes permanent. #Invest2EndFGM

Looking forward to Sustained commitment from men going beyond speaking. We need men to act on top of speaking out, challenging harmful norms, and standing with girls every day. Ending #FGM takes action on top of commitments. #EndFGM #Invest2EndFGM

On this Day of Zero Tolerance for FGM, we reaffirm that every commitment made, every action taken brings us closer to ending FGM. FGM can end but only if we accelerate progress, invest in prevention, treat survivors with dignity and each of us uses our influence to protect girls
