It's been a while since I updated the TeachFirst costs sheet. Now up to date (I think). £558m investment/21,000 teachers/21 years. Schools contributed 1/3 of that total directly!

Teaching requires both a ‘repertoire’ of approaches and a ‘reservoir’ of understanding – and the government won’t fix the recruitment and retention crisis by ignoring the latter, say @DrClareBrooks and Tom Kirk https://t.co/qA91UnOoiJ

The teacher recruitment and retention crises show that the system requires far-reaching reform, argue two members of the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge

What a wasted opportunity. This will not address what was wrong with both frameworks. In fact, it’s likely to make things worse. This is not what we need! Early career and trainee teachers to share updated framework

Combined framework will set out how teachers should be trained in special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) support, oracy and mental health

@Keith_Turvey Just read Hordern & Brookes, 2023 which exemplifies the bizarre state of play in ITE. I’m sure the market review, accreditation, CCF/ECT straitjackets, ITAPs etc & their implications have not been fully recognised in the public domain. Frightening.
