One of our conclusions was that the North for 25 years didn't try hard enough to win. Sometimes got in their own way by trying to follow rules the South didn't. Then this. I'm out of the business of trying to tell anyone how to feel about this. But I think it's all connected.

NCAA's ruling on Michigan:.1. They did it. 2. Would have been a 2-year postseason ban and loss of 8 scholarships in the old days. In this era, they don't get those penalties and instead are financially penalized for the equivalent of that.

LSU, Oklahoma, Florida and Mississippi State all have more Top 25 teams on their schedule (7) than Penn State (3) & Indiana (3) play combined (6). Another reason why everyone laughed at Big 10 when they tried to flex the about the ātoughnessā of their 9 game conference schedule.
