If there are any Democrats out there who care about the damage this shutdown is doing, then I have a bill at the desk: A clean, nonpartisan CR to fund WIC, SNAP, troop pay, air traffic controller pay, farm programs, housing assistance, national defense, and more.

If you haven’t already, you are going to see a flood of performative posts from shameless House Democrats about SNAP. On September 19, the House passed a bill to fund the program and keep the government OPEN. Every single House Democrat, with one exception, voted NO. Just FYI.

End your filibuster and reopen the government. This is all so phony and pointless.

The President can't use emergency funds for regular SNAP benefits. And even if he could, the emergency fund is also billions of dollars short--it wouldn't cover the cost of regular SNAP benefits. The only way to fund SNAP is for Senator Schumer to end this shutdown.
